About Us


Tom has been mixing heat and spices for years -- experimenting with different flavors, heat and cuisines. As a radical hobbyist, many varieties were grown to expand the fiery spectrum of tastes and the beauty of these peppers. As seasons rolled by, more and more varieties were germinated and acreage expanded. The passion for zesty food has lead to a search for seeds from afar that allow our climate and soil to enlighten our taste buds.

We are as diverse in backgrounds as the chilies we grow. Tom, a Kings Point graduate, with over a decade in the merchant marines, docked in many ports around the world, feasting on strange foods, acquired a fascination for bringing flavor from the soil up. Eventually, Tom gravitated to the University of Connecticut Agricultural School to do graduate studies and enhance his field skills.

At Mad Hill Peppers, organic chile farming is our passion and savory foods is our goal.
